The Akai MPC One G2 standalone sampler puts a complete production studio into a 10.7-inch square box, no computer required. Akai rebuilt the internals around a new G2 eight-core processor with four times the muscle of the original MPC One, backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Projects load fast, sessions stay deep, and the ceiling is now 16 stereo audio tracks and up to 32 plugin programs.
What you feel first is the workflow. MPC3 OS brings a track-based environment and a Linear Arranger, so you are not stuck looping four bars forever. Chop a sample, build the groove on 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads, then lay the song out end to end on the 7-inch multi-touch screen. It plays like hardware and arranges like software.
How It Fits Your Rig
On a desk it is the whole studio: sample straight off your phone or laptop over USB-C, track vocals into the balanced quarter-inch inputs, and monitor through speakers or headphones. In a hybrid rig it doubles as a 24-in/24-out USB audio interface with 32 MIDI channels, and Ableton Live Control Mode plus project import and export lands your pad-built beats in your session. Five-pin MIDI and four TRS CV/Gate jacks sequence synths and modular from the same brain. Small enough to travel with, deep enough to finish records.

Does it work without a computer?
Yes. Sampling, sequencing, plugins and audio recording all happen inside the unit. Connect a computer only for the audio interface, controller mode or Ableton transfer.
What sounds and software are included?
MPC3 OS, plus instrument plugins including Hype, Odyssey, Solina, Mellotron, Organ, TubeSynth, DrumSynth and NI Analog Dreams, and expansions such as Classic Drum Machines, Percussion Tools and the Welcome to ATL packs.
Can I load my older MPC projects?
It reads MPC 2 projects and legacy files from the MPC5000, MPC4000, MPC3000, MPC2500, MPC1000 and MPC500.
Will it sequence my synths and modular gear?
Yes. Between the 5-pin MIDI ports, 32 channels of USB MIDI and eight CV/Gate outputs, it drives a full hardware setup.
