Based on the Benson Chimera 30’s pre-amplifier circuitry, the Benson Preamp shrinks the flexible sound of the original to a pedal-friendly format and uses field-effect transistors for an open and organic sound. By dispensing with conventional diode clipping, the Benson pre-amp pedal remains dynamic and uncompressed even on higher drive settings. If you turn up the Drive control completely, you will be rewarded with rough fuzz sounds. The Bass control determines the tightness of the sound.
