Two Channels of Ambient Mischief
The Chase Bliss Bad Mood is a two-channel ambient multi-effect pedal that takes the “instant bliss” workflow of MOOD MKII somewhere darker, noisier, and considerably more fun. One half is an always-listening micro-looper. The other is a bank of real-time spatial effects. Run them together and they start reacting to each other, which is where the trouble begins.
It’s the third pedal in the Small Batch Bliss line, a made-to-order special edition built during a single preorder window. This one is the red finish.
How It Sounds and Feels
The wet channel holds three voices: Soup, a resynthesized reverb that rebuilds your signal from thousands of frequency bands; Relay, echoes that refuse to fade politely; and Flip, splintered harmonies. The micro-looper side offers Burst, Radio, and Mask, capturing fragments of what you just played and turning them into sequences, disguises, and radio-station drift across tape, ambient, orchestral, shoegaze, and dance textures.
The shared Clock knob is the secret weapon, setting the sample rate of both channels at once so tone, length, and fidelity shift together in harmonized steps. Glue, a global saturator at the end of the chain, either warms things up or ruins them. Cross lets the channels modulate each other, or respond to your picking hand, so nothing repeats quite the same way.
How It Fits Your Rig
True stereo operation means it drops into an ambient guitar board, a synth chain, or a DAW send just as easily, and it still runs mono or mono-to-stereo. Shoegaze players will live in Soup and Radio; producers chasing lo-fi texture can park it on a bus. MIDI, CV, expression, and external footswitch control make it programmable, and the top-panel dip switches open up alternate behaviors and internal modulation once you’re ready to dig in.

FAQ
Does it work in mono?
Yes. Bad Mood is true stereo but runs perfectly well mono in, mono out, or mono in to stereo out.
What power supply does it need?
A standard 9V DC center-negative supply capable of around 200 mA. It will not run on a battery.
How is it different from MOOD MKII?
Same two-channel workflow, all-new effects, plus true stereo, the Glue saturator, and the Cross interaction system.
