It is a natural-sounding digital delay with an all-analog dry signal path, built with no filtering and no noise reduction circuitry, which is precisely why it sounds like a well-kept tape echo rather than a clinical digital repeat.
Three knobs and you are done. Repeats sit slightly behind and below your dry signal, decaying gracefully into the background instead of piling up in front of your notes. Roll Repeat up near maximum and the pedal tips into runaway self-oscillation for swelling, ambient washes. The echo signal carries tuned filtering, so even extreme settings stay musical.

The Deep Blue Delay was designed to behave with clean and distorted tones alike, so you can run it in front of your amp or in the effects loop, before or after your dirt pedals, without the repeats turning brittle. Keep Level low and Delay short for rockabilly slapback, push Delay toward its 450ms ceiling for dub-style trails, or set a single dark repeat behind a fuzz for depth. The handwired build moves the jacks to the top of the enclosure, freeing up real estate on a tight pedalboard.

Can I run it on 18 volts?
No. Stick to the 8V to 15V range, with 9V recommended. Below 7.5V the delay signal mutes out.
Will it do long ambient washes?
Up to a point. Maximum delay time is 450 ms, but cranking Repeat produces infinite feedback and swelling oscillation for ambient textures. It is equally at home in an effects loop or in front of the amp.
