Its dual-stage preamp offers five stepped gain settings from +18 dB to +39 dB, while the Hi/Lo switch lets you choose between generous clean headroom and earlier breakup. The expanded three-band EQ provides sweepable frequency controls, making it easy to remove mud, enhance presence, add weight, or create more dramatic studio-style tones.
A combination XLR and 1/4-inch input accommodates instruments and microphones, while independent XLR and 1/4-inch outputs support flexible stage and recording setups. The Colour Box V2 can also safely pass 48V phantom power to a condenser microphone and includes a switchable -20 dB pad for managing high-output XLR sources.
