Two Overdrives, One Real Tube
The Keeley Tube Drive Twin Triode packs two distinct drive voices into one rugged enclosure. One side is a genuine high-voltage vacuum tube overdrive running a Keeley-branded 12AX7 at roughly 160 volts — real tube operation, not a starved-plate imitation. The other side is the legendary Keeley Phat Mod, the modded Blues Driver circuit that built the company’s reputation. Each channel has its own Level, gain, and Tone controls, its own footswitch, and its own LED, so you can run either one alone or stack both for uber-thick layered overdrive.
The tube is the centerpiece and Keeley treats it that way: every 12AX7 is burned in and tested, then mounted behind a custom tube shield so it is visible on your board. A tube-removal tool, shield, and grommet are included, and a thumb screw with push rod makes swapping the tube straightforward. Engineered, designed, and built at Keeley’s Oklahoma City headquarters.
Foot-Controlled Flexibility
Two long-press gestures unlock what usually takes a menu dive. Hold the Tube footswitch for two seconds to toggle between true bypass and Keeley’s silent buffered switching — two LED flashes means true bypass, three means buffered, which is the factory default. Hold the Drive footswitch for two seconds to flip the effect order between Drive→Tube and Tube→Drive; whichever channel flashes is first in the chain. A 1/4″ TRS remote jack lets an external switcher engage either channel (tip for Drive, ring for Tube), so the pedal fits a fully integrated rig as easily as a pedalboard.
