The Story Behind Chelsea
The original pedal that inspired Chelsea was a true relic—well-worn, modified over the years, and held together with tape, yet delivering a one-of-a-kind sound. Used extensively on LCD Soundsystem recordings, it became an irreplaceable part of the band’s sonic signature. But with age came fragility, and EarthQuaker Devices was tasked with bringing this legendary tone into a reliable, road-ready format—without losing its signature character.
Named after the London guitar shop where the original was found in 1989, Chelsea maintains all the unique quirks of its predecessor while offering modern durability and consistency.

- Tone Bypass Switch – Remove the tone circuit for a more mid-focused, aggressive attack, or keep it engaged for a full-bodied fuzz with a slight natural scoop.
- Level – Controls overall output volume, ensuring your fuzz sits exactly where you need it in the mix.
